The Putnam County Health Department’s immunization clinic is open periodically throughout the year. To see our next available date(s), please visit our Events page. We serve those with certain commercial insurances, Medicaid beneficiaries and uninsured child under the age of 19. We carry some adult vaccine. Private appointments are available based on the availability of our nursing staff.
There is no fee for the Putnam County Health Department’s safety seat inspections. However, an appointment is required.
The department currently employs a Child Care Provider Consultant who provides training and consultation to childcare providers in the county. Subject matter includes health and safety issues and assistance in understanding and complying with state and federal guidelines and requirements. The Child Care Provider Consultant also teaches health-related topics to children in daycare settings.
The Putnam County Health Department provides blood lead level screening for children birth to six years of age. It is recommended that all children in this age range be screened. If you don’t know if your child has been screened, ask your family doctor or pediatrician.
