Screening Clinics
A blood sugar screening clinic is held on the first Thursday of every month from 8:00 am to 9:00 am.
No appointment is necessary. We do ask that you are fasting after midnight the night before.
A cholesterol screening clinic is held the second Thursday of every month from 8:15 am to 9:30 am.
There is a $13.00 donation requested to help offset the cost of supplies. An appointment is required
for this screening. You will need to be fasting after midnight the night before.
An immunization clinic is held every month. Participants are encouraged to bring their child's
immunization record with them to every appointment. Clinics are scheduled once a month with
private appointments being accepted also. There is no charge for this service. Donations are
accepted.
An appointment may be made with Jeanie Johnson, RN for STD screening and testing. Confidential
and private testing is drawn at our facility. Please contact Jeanie at ext. 23 for an appointment.
Child Care Health Consult
Putnam County Health Department contracts with the State of Missouri to provide Child Care Health
Consults with licensed and non-licensed day care facilities in Putnam County. Some previous
consults have covered breastfeeding, lead safety, disease prevention and bicycle safety.
Communicable Disease
Putnam County Health Department reports weekly to the state of Missouri on Communicable
Disease's. We survey different public locations in Putnam County to see if they have experienced any
communicable disease the previous week. Each reportable disease is investigated and reported to
the state for further review and statistical use.
Chronic Disease Primary Prevention

Maternal Child Health Program
Putnam County Health Department contracts with the State of Missouri for Maternal and Child Health
Program. We offer numerous health and safety education programs. Some of them include:
Prenatal Case Management, Child Safety Seat Inspections, Lead Safety for day cares and parents

W.I.C.
W.I.C. is a supplemental food program designed for women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, and
postpartum mothers; infants and children up to their 5th birthday. W.I.C. Clinics are scheduled
